COMMON LAMP SHADE SHAPES AND HOW TO ORDER

Step 1: Describe the shape.
For example: round, oval, rectangular, cut corner, hexagonal, octagonal, pagoda or inverted corner.

Step 2: Give measurements IN THIS ORDER for the top, bottom and side.
For example: Round 5 x 12 x 7. Note the numbers are all in INCHES

Step 3: Describe the washer or spider shape.
Is it level to the top of the shade or dropped? If dropped, how much?? The washer is the metal spider part that holds the shade to the harp that is attached to the lamp.

Round shades are described in this manner:
1) top measurement
2) bottom
3) side

Round, 6 x 12 x 8

Round, 10 x 11 x 8

Oval shades are described as follows: top 7 x 4, 12 x 6, side 8

Rectangular or Oblong shades are described as follows:
top (4 x9) bottom (6 x 12) side 9

Rounded corner shapes are described in the same manner as Rectangular or Oblong. Be sure to state that it is to be a ROUNDED corner.

Hexagonal and Octagonal shades are described by the size of a single panel.

For example: 3 x 5 x 9 using the top, bottom, side format

Cut corner shades are described as follows:
top (4 x 2 x 6) bottom (6 x 4 x 9) Side 10
